This is me, Fred McLean, during a photo shoot. I was demonstrating to a model the next pose to strike. I was also teaching a good friend of mine, Pam O'Brian, how I do studio portraits. She decided to take a quick shot of me.

Portrait photography has always been a love of mine.  In December of 2003 I decided to get serious about portraiture so I purchased a professional camera, some studio lights and some backdrops. Since then I have had plenty of practice. I mostly work out of my home on the weekends using my studio. My wife, Lisa lovingly refers to it as "The Living Room". During the regular work week I hold a position as a Senior Network Administrator.

Portraiture is my main focus but I also do event photography such as Pageants, Birthday Parties, Quinceanera's, Bar Mitzvah's and Bat Mitzvah's. I generally work out some way to do a little portrait photography during those events. I guess you could say I handle them more like a Portrait Party.

A Portrait Party is where a group of people get together to have their portraits taken. This can be a few families getting together, the kids in the neighborhood getting together, theme parties, corporate parties and the like. Use your imagination.

I also do weddings. I charge a flat rate. This consists of taking as many shots as I possibly can of the entire event beginning with the wedding party getting ready for the wedding, the wedding and reception. I usually shoot between 300 and 600 shots or more. Upon completion I provide the bride & groom or designated person with the Hi-Resolution images on a CD or DVD. They may then print and distribute then freely however they choose.

Portfolio development for persons thinking about getting into modeling is something else I do. If you are considering getting into that field, I can offer some advice or at least point you in the right direction. I don't really have a special price for this. It is basically just like any other photo shoot.

TFP (Time for Print) or TFCD (Time for a CD) is a great way to build a portfolio. It basically means that you as a model put in your TIME for PRINTS or a CD of your images that you can use on an online profile. There is no cost to the model and little cost to the photographer. It is meant to help the model and photographer build each others' portfolios. I don't do it as often as I used to as I find myself rather busy these days, but if you have a look or type of modeling I could use in my portfolio, I'll make time. I offer TFP/TFCD sessions on a case by case basis. If you are interested, please contact me. You can download my Model Release Form by clicking Here.
